Poll Results: What Benefit Would Entice You to Upskill or Advance Your Hard Skills?

It can be tough to motivate ourselves to go through training when we already have a job or when we’re dealing with the other stresses of life. But sometimes, promotion opportunities are only available to those who take the time to upskill.

If there was one benefit you could get as a reward for taking the time to upskill, what would it be? We wanted to know, so we took a poll. Here are the results!

The Results

Twenty-eight percent of those polled responded with a pay increase, while 17% chose a cash or bonus incentive. Another 15% opted for scheduling flexibility, while an additional 14% chose new or expanded job opportunities. Just 13% responded with promotion, and just 11% chose benefits incentive.

One percent chose the other options with responses such as “the joy of personal development,” “personal achievement and satisfaction,” and “additional PTO.”

What Does it Mean?

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the two most popular responses involved monetary rewards. But it’s important to note that scheduling flexibility and expanded job opportunities weren’t that far behind. If your company provides opportunities to upskill, benefits like these might be open to you.
