Whether you’re looking to give your resume a bit of a boost or just hoping to learn more about working while the world adjusts to COVID-19, there are a number of organizations providing free training during this difficult time. Topics range from contact tracing to learning how to work remotely, and more.
- Training to Keep Everyone Safe
Companies want to keep their employees and customers safe, which has led to a marked increase in contact tracer positions.
According to the CDC, contact tracers “quickly locate and talk with the patients, assist in arranging for patients to isolate themselves, and work with patients to identify people with whom the patients have been in close contact so the contact tracer can locate them.”
Purdue University is offering a free contact tracing course that “provides the information you need to help public health agencies track and limit the spread of the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19.” The course is a $295 value and takes six to eight hours to complete.
- Working Remotely
Working from home can be a challenge for many workers, especially when it comes to being productive. Luckily, Biz Library has curated a playlist of videos to help you “work from home and maintain the same level of productivity as if you were in the office.”
Topics cover conference call guidelines, productivity tips, setting up a remote workspace, and more.
- Managing Stress
It goes without saying that the pandemic has made life more stressful. Things that used to be relatively easy, like taking your kid to school or having a meeting with colleagues at work, are now much more complicated.
Dale Carnegie is offering a free webinar called Handling Stress and Supporting Resilience. The webinar is “designed to bring leaders together to learn about and reflect on recent research by Dale Carnegie Training and others regarding resilience, its impact on reducing stress in times of adversity and how to develop it in people, teams and across an organization.”
- Job Genius and the Get Ahead Series
Express Employment Professionals is a staffing company that focuses on getting people back to work, so it makes sense for us to provide access to resources and training to help with that process.
Job Genius is a learning program that focuses on the hiring process, from crafting a career path to finding job openings, landing a job, and more. It’s an educational program, composed of 16 videos, designed to teach young adults how to successfully enter the workforce.
Express also offers the Get Ahead video chat series, which focuses on resume writing and interview tips to help you get ahead in your job search. Employment experts answer questions about resumes, finding job opportunities, pivoting into a new career, and more.
