No formal education is required, although some employers may prefer a high school diploma.
This varies depending on a variety of factors (e.g. experience, geographic area, industry, etc.), but Parts Counter Reps can make as much as $14 per hour.
What Parts Counter Reps Do
They deal with a variety of tasks, including:
- Managing shipping organization and ensuring the highest quality boxes, packing, and pallets are used for shipments.
- Potentially working with the internal Shipping and Receiving Department.
- Assisting customers in finding parts for their vehicle.
What Qualities Should Parts Counter Reps Have?
Every position is different, but many companies look for the following skills and attributes:
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Customer service driven attitude.
- Experience in reading bill of lading and other freight forms.
