Odd Jobs That Don’t Feel Like Work

If you had the option to make money without having to do much, would you? There are jobs where you can get paid to do the things you already do and enjoy doing. Let’s take a look at some odd jobs that don’t feel like work at all!

Get Paid to Binge-Watch

If you enjoy binge-watching TV shows and movies on the weekends, Netflix has a sought-after job you can do during the week from the comfort of your couch. In 2018, the streaming service posted a position for a “Netflix tagger,” or editorial analyst. The tagger watches content for the streaming service and assigns relevant tags. Those tags include information like the release date, language, genre, cast and crew members, and types of profanity and violence depicted in the movie or show. Make sure to bookmark the Netflix careers website to go back and check for when a new “tagger” position has been posted.

Get Paid to Watch Animals

If you like animals, how about a career where you get paid to look after a furry, feathery, or scaley friend? There are jobs out there that allow you to sit for and walk dogs and cats, such as Rover. Another option is Petsitter, where you may watch after or even train a variety of animals, including birds, reptiles, and exotic pets. Your compensation will vary depending on the company. Many companies will ask you to complete a background check and create a personal profile before you can work with animals.

Get Paid to Listen to Tunes

Are you a music enthusiast? Do you want to add some new songs to your playlist while also earning some money? On Spotify, reviewers can score new artists’ songs by utilizing services such as Slice The Pie and Playlist Push. Before signing up to be a reviewer, make sure you thoroughly understand the requirements. For example, Slice The Pie requires you to listen to music for at least 90 seconds. The site will pay you for your rating and review.

Get Paid to Test Beds

Does the thought of getting paid while you sleep intrigue you? There are jobs out there that will pay you to nap while testing bedding and mattresses. According to ZipRecruiter, people who test mattresses for a living make approximately $49,000 on average nationally. To land a sleeping job, ZipRecruiter recommends having experience as a product tester and understanding the target demographic for a mattress. You can even create a portfolio of product reviews to show your communication and product assessment abilities.

Participating in surveys or focus groups are some more popular ways people like to earn extra cash. However, if you’re looking for a fun low-stakes job that pays you for things you already do, this list can be helpful.

What’s something you wish you could get paid to do? Laundry? Playing video games?

I wouldn’t consider that an “odd job” at all, Kim! I’m sure those teens could learn some valuable lessons from you!

I’m awesome at doing laundry and I’m a stain master after selling used clothes for years. Everyone brings me their used clothes or comes to me when they need a stain removed. I used alot of natural things to do laundry and know how to bring out the colors in clothing so they look new. I love to do laundry and hope this is an option in the future to make extra cash. Always wanted to start my own laundry business but just never tried. Thank u for your time and the suggestion. 🙂
