Beat the Heat: Hot Tips for Workplace Safety

When temperatures rise, so should awareness of heat illness and how to prevent it at work. Heat-related illnesses can impact anyone working outdoors or indoors, and prevention is the best cure. Stay safe by practicing these tips when working in high temperatures or humidity:

  • Hydrate with water and electrolytes
  • Take breaks to cool off
  • Watch for signs and symptoms of heat-related illness, which may include fatigue, nausea, dizziness, muscle spasms, or confusion, among others
  • Assess your personal risk factors and adjust accordingly
