October 2-6 is International Customer Service Week, and we’re spotlighting an Express Employment Professionals associate who was honored this year by the American Staffing Association (ASA). Cassandra Hughes was nominated for the 2023 ASA National Staffing Employee of the Year award and recognized as an all-star in the Office-Clerical and Administrative sector. Cassandra’s ASA prize included the physical award, a professional photoshoot, and a gift card.
Cassandra began working as a customer service agent with the Express St. Cloud, MN, office in 2020. From the beginning, she excelled in the role, calling on her previous customer service experience. In the middle of Cassandra’s assignment at the client company, her brother lost custody of his five kids. Cassandra stepped up and obtained custody of her nieces and nephews, while working incredibly hard to maintain open lines of communication with her manager and Express about the major life change.
Here’s what Cassandra’s representatives at Express had to say about her dedication as an associate:
“Cassandra worked tirelessly with her supervisor and Express on seamless communication so we knew what she needed so we could collaborate and adjust her schedule as needed,” said Dana Gruber, Office Manager of the St. Cloud, MN, Express office. “As selfless as Cassandra is, she deserves a great deal of recognition for supporting her family in their time of need, while also balancing her professional dreams and commitments.”
“Cassandra represents the most successful workers we place by her attitude to learn and grow in a company,” stated Jill Magelssen, Franchise Owner of the St. Cloud, MN, Express office. “Cassandra’s willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty, including working overtime when necessary, and excellent attendance mean that she can always be counted on to be at work and giving her all. Her employment by our client satisfied each of those criteria. We are this client’s lone provider!”
After a yearlong evaluation period with the client company, Cassandra was extended a permanent offer of employment in March 2022, where she is still happily employed.
Cassandra’s fantastic work ethic is also being recognized at Express. She was named the winner of the 2023 Express Employee of the Year award. Each year, the award is one of the top highlights at Express Employment International, with the winner announced at Express’ annual franchise owner conference.
