In addition to being known as a pioneer in animation, as well as film, and the creator of some of the most beloved and recognizable characters in the world, Walt Disney was also responsible for leading and inspiring an innovative, industry-defining studio of “dreamers.”

“Somehow I can’t believe that there are any heights that can’t be scaled by a man who knows the secrets of making dreams come true. This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four Cs. They are curiosity, confidence, courage, and constancy, and the greatest of all is confidence. When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable.”

Although, in Disney’s words, the four Cs are the secret to making dreams come true, they’re just as easily applied to leadership and employee development. (more…)

Jackson didn’t get real attention until he played “Gator” in “Jungle Fever.” Julia Child was 49 when she published “Mastering the Art of French Cooking” in 1961. And finally, Oprah was 32 when her talk show received national syndication.

Many Americans had big plans going into 2020 of finishing school and entering the workforce as a top candidate or returning to college for additional training to get a promotion. But then, the COVID-19 pandemic hit and put everything on hold.

In a recently released survey from The Harris Poll, commissioned by Express Employment Professionals, 15% of U.S. adults know someone who dropped out of primary or secondary school, while 35% know someone who dropped out of the workforce entirely during the pandemic.

And only a slight majority (56%) say the U.S. is taking the right steps to help students recover.
